Satoshi Kon: The Art of Dreaming

The Dreamer: The Art of Satoshi Kon is the only art book by animation master Satoshi Kon.

The book contains over 150 illustrations drawn by Kon himself. In addition to artwork from his well-known works such as Paprika and Millennium Actress, it also includes many unreleased works, early creations, storyboards, and more. Printed in a large 16mo format with four-color printing on 140g heavy special paper, it showcases high-definition, vibrant images.

This art book is a microcosm of Kon's life: early plaster sketches, classical music album designs, various unreleased character designs, storyboards from Ohayo, early manga Kaikisen, artwork from his cinematic masterpieces Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, and Paprika, as well as his unfinished final work Dreaming Machine. It also includes his self-penned commentaries on his works, a complete chronological resume, and more. Kon's life story and creations seem to be condensed behind every drawing.
