As the Hong Kong Arts Centre’s Comix Home Base approaches its 20th anniversary, it has curated the “Comix Art Festival 2025”. In addition to showcasing the latest developments in Hong Kong’s creative scene through various activities, the festival also pays tribute to internationally renowned cartoonist and illustrator Kim Jung Gi. The Hong Kong Arts Centre (Comix Home Base), with the support of the Kim Jung Gi Museum, Superani Studio, and the family of Kim Jung Gi, is privileged to present “Kim Jung Gi…A Journey of Endless Lines”. Kim Jung Gi was internationally acclaimed for his live drawing of monumental images. This exhibition is the world’s first comprehensive retrospective of his creative career, featuring the largest number of works ever displayed. We hope visitors will witness the talent of this artist who achieved excellence in both art and commercial fields.

To coincide with the exhibition, the Hong Kong Arts Centre has also published the exhibition catalogue “Kim Jung Gi…A Journey of Endless Lines”. The catalogue, divided into thirteen sections, reviews Kim Jung Gi’s remarkable journey from his early creations to his international live drawing performances. The content is carefully selected from over two hundred precious exhibits gathered for the exhibition, including original comic manuscripts, illustrations, sketches, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. It comprehensively presents Kim Jung Gi's free-spirited and distinct artistic universe, making it a highly collectible item.
