With the diverse and dynamic nature of music media and experiences, music-related design scenarios present a dazzling array of visual expressions. This issue of Design360° magazine, from an observer's perspective, showcases the unique interplay between music and design within this niche, exploring the rich yet fragmented performances of music design. The editors will use multi-angle visual creations as clues to lead readers into new scenes and experiences of music design.
For this issue, we invited Lu Tao, who has extensive observational experience in the field of music design, to serve as an editorial consultant. Focusing on three "scene fragments" of music experience—Livehouse performances (visual jockeys), nightclub dance clubs, and albums—we present the brilliant visual designs within these contexts. We hope that behind the sharing of visual experiences and creations, we can expand to a broader reflection on groups, eras, content, and even the overall music media and music industry. At the end of the theme, the editors borrow the concept of a record's "B-Side," inviting two special guests who are both musicians and designers, to delve into the wider world of musician-designers.
