Dialogue with Design: 75 Years of Hong Kong Joint Publishing Book Design (1948-2023)

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Joint Publishing (Hong Kong), this book compiles a selection of significant book design masterpieces from 1948 to 2023, divided into two parts. The first part showcases 670 physical books and a compilation of their data, including covers, layouts, and design descriptions. The second part features interviews with over thirty designers, both veteran and emerging, such as Kan Tai-keung, Ning Chengchun, Lu Zhichang, Leo Kin-lin, Chiu Kwong-chiu, Sun Junliang, Katy Ng, Chen Xicheng, Max Chan, Mak Kai-hang, Yiu Kwok-ho, and Ah Kuen. Through the designers' perspectives, the book aims to present the development and evolution of local Hong Kong book design, as well as the social and artistic ideas influenced by interactions with mainland China.
