疊構城市 Layering the City: Research on Infrastructure and Public Space in Macau

Through an expanded design strategy following project delivery in Macau, and research into infrastructure design and public spaces in high-density environments, LBA defines "un-purposed space" as a mechanism to interweave private and public spaces, while establishing a model of "opportunistic urbanism" where designers become facilitators of innovative procurement strategies.

LBA goes beyond the strict scope of traditional design and commissions, discovering that architects can sometimes be agents of change, negotiators, and even policymakers, thereby transforming the commissioning culture of projects and bringing new spatial proposals to future cities—incorporating more layers of community interaction and cultural use into the overall design. This is an architectural endeavor rooted in "generosity": we truly fulfill our civic responsibility as architects when we can both meet client needs and incorporate our own agenda for responding to urban issues.
