If living is a disaster, we can only grudgingly endure it day by day, digging for fleeting moments of joy in the gaps where the surfaces of reality are stacked and patched together. "No No No No Good Club" collects pleasant and unpleasant scenes alike: hypermarkets, strangers, wedding banquets, dog walks in the park, beach parties, empty houses, relatives and friends, livehouse venues... These various scenes that Chen Yi-tang has frequented are both his life and the source of his creations. The myriad of lives depicted in the book largely represent our exhausting daily routines. Yet, under the artist's gaze, those captured, trivial, and seemingly insignificant moments reveal subtle glimmers of light from within the cracks, passively yet proactively piecing together the fringes of contemporary society. Through Chen Yi-tang's images, this photobook reveals to others a world where, even as the surface tension of things is fleeting, one can still find warmth in the crevices—an era in which we currently reside.
