In their fifth adventure, Tik and Tok are lured by a beautiful song to a terrible city. Full of rusty machines, filthy smoke and rats, children do nothing all day but stare blankly at screens. Tik, pursued by Pinchbrat, dives into the sewers and sets off to discover who is in control and what it all means. Tok, meanwhile, has his own troubles, having offended Sir William Warp.
