The Book Battle

Chi Hoi's "The Book Fight" was originally part of the mini-comic series published by mini kuš in Latvia in 2020, and has been out of print for some time. Now, nos:books is reprinting it as the 2026 edition. The story depicts different books debating the forms of their own books to prove their superiority. The orthodox comic faction, in its quest for recognition, escalates a verbal dispute into a physical altercation, leading to a fierce and inextricable melee involving various types of art books. The orthodox comic faction, despite its crude demeanor, uses rhyming insults to articulate current issues eloquently, embodying a fusion of literature and martial arts in artistic debate.

The new 2026 edition, a pocket-sized version, requires cutting open the top edge, mimicking the deckle-edged binding of French literary paperback novels, delivering a light punch.
