Henri Cartier-Bresson is likely a household name, hailed as the greatest photographer of the 20th century and the originator of "The Decisive Moment" concept. For the first time in 70 years, the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation is reissuing this iconic work by Cartier-Bresson.
The book was published by Verve in 1955, three years after the great success of "The Decisive Moment."
"The Europeans" brings together 114 photographs taken by Cartier-Bresson in ten European countries between 1950 and 1955. These images came from his photographic assignments for magazines such as "Harper's Bazaar," "Life," "Holiday," and "Paris Match," documenting the rebuilding of post-war Europe.
