The day before his retirement, Dad suddenly disappeared. Where did Dad go? Not in the vegetable garden, not at the fishing pond, not in the woodworking shop... In his original retirement plan, where did he say he wanted to go?
"I" searched everywhere for Dad's whereabouts but found nothing. "My" work continued to pile up, my stomach and my cat still screamed at regular times, and sometimes, I would realize that I had momentarily forgotten about him. Until a turning point, "I" transformed death into another form of existence – Dad became the sea, continuing to accompany "me" in daily life in another world.
This is a story of searching for someone, not to bring them back, but to bid them farewell.
All the inner pages of the book are bound in the "fukurotoji" style with folded leaves. "I" is printed on the front, and Dad is printed on the back (the reader can only see a faint outline), with the front and back of the paper representing two different dimensions of life and death, making the book's structure part of the story's content.
