The book is liberally illustrated with maps and pictures, most of which were collected by José Maria Braga (Jack Braga), who lived and worked in Macau between 1924 and 1946. His family roots in Macau go back to 1704, when his ancestor, Manuel Vicente da Rosa, arrived in Macau.
